SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS

Required Ingredients:

  • -3-4 lbs Beef Flank or Brisket
  • -1 jar (10 oz) Quoc Viet Pho Soup Base
  • -2 quarts Water
  • -1 lb Rice Noodles (Banh Pho)
  • -Bean Sprouts
  • -Fresh Basil
  • -Lime wedges
  • -Jalapeno slices

Condiments:

  • -Hoisin Sauce
  • -Sriracha
  • -Fish Sauce
  • -Fresh Cilantro
  • -Green Onions

Directions:

  1. 1.In a large pot, bring 2 quarts of water to a boil.
  2. 2.Add beef and simmer for 1.5-2 hours until tender. Skim foam as needed.
  3. 3.Remove beef and slice thinly against the grain. Set aside.
  4. 4.Add entire jar of Quoc Viet Pho Soup Base to the broth. Stir well.
  5. 5.Simmer for 10-15 minutes to let flavors meld.
  6. 6.Cook rice noodles according to package directions. Drain and divide among bowls.
  7. 7.Top noodles with sliced beef.
  8. 8.Ladle hot broth over the beef and noodles.
  9. 9.Serve immediately with bean sprouts, basil, lime, jalapeno, and condiments on the side.

  • -15-20 lbs Beef Flank or Brisket
  • -1 container (3 lbs) Quoc Viet Pho Soup Base
  • -5 gallons Water
  • -5 lbs Rice Noodles (Banh Pho)
  • -Bean Sprouts (bulk)
  • -Fresh Basil (bulk)
  • -Limes
  • -Jalapenos

Condiments:

  • -Hoisin Sauce
  • -Sriracha
  • -Fish Sauce
  • -Fresh Cilantro
  • -Green Onions

Directions:

  1. 1.In a large stock pot, bring 5 gallons of water to a boil.
  2. 2.Add beef in batches and simmer for 2-3 hours until tender. Skim foam regularly.
  3. 3.Remove beef and slice thinly against the grain. Keep warm.
  4. 4.Add entire container of Quoc Viet Pho Soup Base to the broth. Stir thoroughly.
  5. 5.Simmer for 20-30 minutes to develop full flavor.
  6. 6.Keep broth at serving temperature (165°F minimum).
  7. 7.Cook rice noodles in batches as needed. Portion into serving bowls.
  8. 8.Top each bowl with sliced beef to order.
  9. 9.Ladle hot broth over beef and noodles. Serve immediately with garnishes.

Tips & Notes

For the best flavor, make the broth a day ahead and refrigerate overnight. The fat will solidify on top and can be easily removed for a cleaner broth. Always serve pho piping hot - the broth should be hot enough to slightly cook thin slices of raw beef if desired.
